Accountability in the Workplace

Accountable employees drive performance and enhance productivity. This workshop explores what it means to be accountable.  We will look at ways to create accountability, explore leadership roles, experience the power of goal setting, practice using feedback as a tool, acknowledge barriers, and appreciate the benefits of accountability at work. Participants will leave with a new appreciation for holding themselves and others accountable in ways that help everyone achieve agency goals. 

Building Better Teams

One of the most powerful reasons for team building is to get results. In this workshop, we explore the five basic dysfunctions that must be overcome to build a strong, cohesive team.  Through a series of activities, participants will learn the skills that make trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and focus results possible for any team.  This course is designed for a unit or team to attend for the best results. In this full-day session, participants will experience the essential coaching skills needed to enhance performance in employees.  This course is designed for leads, supervisors, and managers, to help create a more collaborative approach to performance management. Through reflection, discussion, and practice, participants will leave with the tools to enhance employee performance through coaching.

Employee Motivation in the Workplace

Employee motivation is key to achieving organizational outcomes because happy, professional, motivated employees deliver better results. This workshop includes defining motivation, exploring its importance, looking at relevant theories and personality types and developing methods to improve motivation. Employees will leave the workshop with the tools to be energized and motivated at work.

Facilitation Skills

Facilitation is the art of leading groups in a manner that encourages participation, ownership, and creativity. This course is designed for agency leaders at every level tasked with guiding a group in achieving a goal. Topics include the purpose and benefits of facilitation, the role of the facilitator in managing groups, dealing with conflict, and ways to help a group reach consensus.  Participants will leave with an understanding of what facilitation is all about, as well as tools that they can use to facilitate productive and efficient meetings.

 

High-Performance Teams in a Remote Workforce

A team of well-trained remote employees can increase productivity while maintaining quality. This workshop is designed for today’s work environment and will equip agency leaders with the skills and tools to manage a high-performing team remotely.  Using reflection, discussion, case studies, and interactive activities, participants will explore characteristics of a high-performance team, how to create teamwork remotely, and ways to recognize great performance in team members.

Managing Your Virtual Team

In today’s world, supervisors are called to manage their teams remotely. This has changed the way we supervise and motivate our employees. In this workshop, participants will explore challenges, examine boundary considerations, and learn ways to offer support, stay connected, and manage performance. Participants will leave with tips and tools to help manage their teams and keep staff energized in a virtual environment.

This full-day workshop explores performance management in today’s workplace. Performance management is an essential skill for all supervisors. When done well, employees will feel connected to the mission, vision, and values of the agency and people served. Topics covered include developing clear expectations, monitoring performance with strong documentation skills; analyzing gaps in performance, and giving feedback to hold staff accountable. Progressive Discipline

Progressive discipline is an effective way to turn performance around and transform a low-performing employee into a valuable asset. It is also one of the best ways for organizations to avoid legal repercussions. This course provides an overview of the clearly defined steps in the progressive discipline process, the required documentation in each step, and explores the impact of Weingarten Rights. While connecting with county Human Resources is a must, this interactive workshop provides examples and practice activities to prepare the participant to navigate the progressive discipline process should it be needed.

This workshop is designed for supervisors and managers to remind us of why we chose this work and the benefits of approaching those we lead holistically. Topics include the characteristics of the servant leader, where to apply servant-leadership, and ways to gain insight into our own ability to lead. Participants leave with a renewed outlook and the potential to better serve our employees, clients, and community partners.

 
 

Writing Performance Evaluations in Human Services

Performance evaluations are one of the most important tools an organization can use.  It is a time to recognize quality performance, capture feedback from the review period, discuss opportunities for growth, and set expectations for the future. In this interactive, hands-on workshop, participants will look at the county’s evaluation process, discuss what needs to be measured, examine necessary documentation, practice writing an effective evaluation, and how to best deliver the information. Attendees will be empowered to take on this task with confidence.
